The 100 bhp mHawk100 diesel engine is now available on the lower T4+ and T6+ trims of the Mahindra TUV300 as well. The TUV300 T4+ variant will be priced at Rs. 8.12 lacs, whereas the TUV300 T6+ variant will be priced at Rs. 8.69 lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra today announced standardising the mHawk100 engine for the entire range of TUV300 subcompact SUV. With this, now even the base models T4+ and T6+ will get the more powerful turbocharged 1.5-litre diesel engine that makes 100 bhp. While the former will now be priced at ₹ 8.02 lakh, the slightly higher T6+ model is now priced at ₹ 8.59 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). As for the less powerful mHawk80 1.5-litre oil burner, the engine is no longer listed on the Mahindra TUV300’s website. The updated TUV300 will be available in all Mahindra showrooms across India with immediate effect.
Speaking on the introduction of the mHAWK100 engine on the entire Mahindra TUV300 range, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing, Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “At Mahindra, it has always been our endeavour to incorporate consumer insights. Based on the feedback we received, we have decided to extend the 73.5kW (100 BHP) mHAWK engine across the entire TUV300 range. We are confident that our customers who purchase the lower end models will also now enjoy a superior and thrilling drive.”
The mHawk100 series uses a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that makes about 100 bhp and develops 240 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard along with a 5-speed AMT unit as optional with the T8 and the T10 variants. Rest of the features and equipment remain unchanged.
The Mahindra TUV300 was first launched in September 2015, and at its time was the only 7-seater in the sub-4 metre SUV category (except for the Quanto). Other features on the Mahindra TUV300 remain the same with a touchscreen infotainment system on the top trims and dual tone boy colour option and more. Customers now also have the option of personalising their TUV300 with the Endurance Kit and the Luxury Edition Kits. The TUV300 mainly competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
