TVS Motor Company has silently increased the price of its new flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR 310 across India. Initially launched at ₹ 2.05 lakh, now the bike will be retailed at ₹ 2.23 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi), with a hike of ₹ 18,000. While TVS has refused to comment on this matter as of now, the price has already been updated on the company’s official website. In fact, we even spoke to some of the TVS dealers who retail the Apache RR 310, who have confirmed the price hike and claim that the new rate came into effect from April 1, 2018. So, an official announcement from TVS is due soon.
The new TVS Apache RR 310 was launched in India in early December 2017 and deliveries for the bike commenced sometime around early January. Considering the price was introductory, it’s doesn’t come as a surprise that TVS has increased the cost of the motorcycle for the new financial year. Being a premium offering from the company, right now, there are only select dealerships in each state and union territory which exclusively retail the TVS Apache RR 310. In fact, the bike is still commanding long waiting periods, which range from three to six months for the Red colour model and about six weeks to five months for the Black colour model, depending on the dealership and the region.
Designed in-house by the TVS design team, the Apache RR 310 is the first full-faired motorcycle from the company and it shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R. Being the company’s flagship motorcycle, the TVS Apache RR 310 comes with a host of premium feature like – LED projector headlamp, LED taillight, high-quality switchgear, and a full-digital, vertically stacked instrument panel with multiple information on the display, including a lap timer. On the equipment front, the bike comes with upside down front forks and a rear monoshock from Kayaba, while braking duties are handled by a 300 mm petal disc at the front, gripped by a radial caliper from Bybre and a 240 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Powering the TVS Apache RR 310 is a four-stroke, four-valve, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined 312 cc engine which makes 33.5 bhp at 9700 rpm and develops 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7700 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and TVS has tuned the engine to offer a top speed measured during testing is 163 kmph.
